| WILDLIFE OF A DIFFERENT SORT. | | From the tall pines of Lake Pontchartrain's Northshore, to the moss-draped serenity of an exotic tropical swamp, to historic forts and exceptional fishing, the Louisiana State Parks in the greater New Orleans area offer you the chance to experience wildlife of a different sort. | | Each one of the area's State Parks and Historic Sites was carefully chosen for its outstanding recreation potential. You can hike, fish, bike and enjoy birding and nature trails. Most State Parks feature a waterfront location, campsites and picnic areas. Several have air-conditioned cabins and/or group camps which, like other buildings in the parks, were designed to reflect each park's cultural environment and ambiance. |
