MayFest Arts and Crafts Festival

MayFest Arts and Crafts Festival | MAY 5 - 6, 2016

Music, art, crafts, food and more will be featured during the MayFest Arts & Crafts Festival, held annually the first weekend in May, in the downtown Leesville Historic District.  Sponsored by the Vernon Parish Tourism Commission, and recognized as a Louisiana State Festival of the Year, MayFest is a favorite among Vernon Parish residents and visitors, offering free musical entertainment and fun for grownups of all ages.

One of West Louisiana’s longest running festivals kicks off with a 5K run and fun walk sponsored by the Association of the United States Army, and followed by a Pancake breakfast served by the Leesville Lions Club.  Children’s events, including the Leesville Rotary Club’s Chalk-a-Block are available throughout the day on Saturday.

Join us for the fun of MayFest.  You’ll find mouth-watering Louisiana festival food ranging from jambalaya to catfish.  With more than seventy-five Arts & Crafts vendors, you’re sure to find that special must-have piece of art or handmade craft item.

You’ll be dancing in the streets with a variety of music styles.  Past performers have included such Grammy award winners as Tab Benoit, Wayne Toups, Irma Thomas, and Louisiana’s LeRoux, as well as other popular nationally known and regional Louisiana music entertainers.  Get caught up in the excitement of one of Louisiana’s premier community festivals.
