Astor Crowne Plaza French Quarter

Located at the corner of world famous Canal and Bourbon Streets, the Astor Crowne Plaza is the Gateway to the French Quarter.  This fine hotel offers guests the best of both worlds - the Old World allure of the French Quarter, with its elegant Creole restaurants, world-renowned art galleries and antique shops - and the bustle of Canal Street, New Orleans' Champs-Elysées and downtown shopping thoroughfare.
The Astor has a new look following the completion of our recent $11M renovation.  The lobby's grand corridor has new furnishings recreated in a floral palette of greens, citron and earth tones, keeping the traditional flair, yet adding modern components.  The lobby offers an authentic New Orleans appeal from magnificent marble floors to beautiful wrought iron, crystal chandeliers gracing the authentic ceiling medallions.

The extensive updating of guestrooms is "all about Astor Crowne Plaza comfort," including the existing Sleep Advantage™ standard bedding with pillow top mattresses, luxurious linens and duvets.  All guestrooms and suites have received new furnishings, wall coverings, drapes, and furniture in keeping with the hotel's traditional style but with a sleeker appeal in a combination of rich soothing colors, textures and styles. Custom-designed lighting has been added to desks and nightstands for better illumination.  Upgraded wireless internet access has been installed to provide better speed and reliability. In-room amenities include; CD player, in-room safe, desk with ergonomic chair, sleep amenities, high-speed internet access, blow dryers, coffee/tea maker, dual line phones and as mentioned previously Crowne Plaza's Sleep Advantage bedding.

The Executive Lounge on the hotel's Club Level floor has been enlarged to double its size to provide privileged guests a view of the city's comings and goings along famed Bourbon Street while enjoying breakfast service, evening snacks, beverages and evening cocktails serviced by an attentive staff.  As well, the Fitness Center has been expanded to twice its size with new flooring, wall coverings, three new flat-screen TVs and new state of the art equipment that includes life cycles, aerobic

equipment and a free-weight universal set.  The new center now overlooks the pool and terrace with ample natural lighting cascading throughout the center.

For the added convenience and easy access for guests, the Astor Crowne Plaza's Business Center has been moved to the lobby level and is available 24 hours a day with your room key.  The center offers three terminals with a network printer as well as certain office supplies, all complimentary.

When it comes to location, the Astor Crowne Plaza is unsurpassed. The hotel is at the corner where business meets pleasure in New Orleans.  With World Famous Bourbon Street right outside our side entrance and Canal Street, the main thoroughfare of downtown gracing the main entrance, the hotel's location just can't be beat when it comes to New Orleans.  Just steps away from the Astor are Harrah's Casino, the Aquarium of the Americas, IMAX Theater, upscale shopping at Canal Place, the antique and art galleries of Royal Street and of course the tantalizing cuisines and exciting entertainment of the French Quarter.

Finally, the most important element of our hotel is the staff.  Truly versed in "Southern Hospitality" that is genuine and sincere, our team of professionals will not just meet your expectations, but exceed them. The guest experience is valued and respected and we appreciate any opportunity to be of service to any request you may have.

Whether visiting for the first time or returning, the Astor Crowne Plaza is the "Place to Meet" when visiting New Orleans.
