The St. Tammany Art Association and Covington businesses, galleries and restaurants present Spring for Art, an annual celebration of the visual, performing and culinary arts. The free event showcases new works and one-night-only shows at Covington's art galleries and dozens of downtown shops, all by regional and nationally-renowned artists. Enjoy an evening of live music at multiple locations, indoors and out, art demonstrations, dance, and other special performances, and shopping at any of dozens of couture fashion boutiques, antique and home furnishings shops, and more. The new exhibition at St. Tammany Art Association is il·lus·trate, will be an exhibition of works by five illustrators from around the country. These artists bring characters, stories, and emotions to life through both traditional and digital media with their unique styles of art-making. Spring for Art is held in conjunction with the 5-day foodie event A Taste of Covington Food & Wine Experience, held April 11-14, 2019. Long known for its stellar dining scene, Covington is home to a combination of several fine dining restaurants with award-winning chefs as well as bistros and cafés with lighter fare. A Taste of Covington features wine dinners and a jazz brunch at select Covington restaurants, as well as wine tastings and other events on Saturday afternoon before Spring for Art begins.
