Kite Fest Louisiane`, the only Kite Festival in the entire state of Louisiana takes place the 1, 2 & 3 of April. Free to the public with over 10,000 people coming out to fly kites, see professional Kite performances, kite making and all around family fun.
The Mississippi River Scenic overlook is home to the popular Fourth Fest on July 4th. September brings the Smokin` Oldies Championship BBQ Cook-off followed by the famous, and again one of a kind, “Oldies but Goodies Fest. The award winning Sugar Fest the first weekend in October will fill the need for that sweet experience you are looking for. Show your patriotism and attend the only parade honoring all veterans past and present the Sunday before Veterans Day in November.
December brings a 25 day festival called the “Reflections of the Season”. December 1 – 25th the lights are up, Santa is in the house. Entertainment, crafters and other vendors are available on the weekends throughout the 25 day event. Drive through, walk or take a carriage or wagon ride through 12 acres of this spectacular light display.
