Dining in Ruston

To experience some area's African American Heritage, travel to the campus of Grambling State University and visit the newly opened Eddie G. Robinson Museum. Robinson coached the Grambling State Tigers for 56 years. In that time, Robinson helped countless players achieve their personal dreams of playing in the NFL, as well as helping many young athletes know the success of graduating from college. Along the way, he became the winningest coach in NCAA history with 408 wins, surpassing Alabama's Bear Bryant to seize the record. His achievements made him a national sports icon for his enduring spirit and his love for life through coaching.

Museum exhibits include a timeline of Robinson's life, a theater that will show an 8-10 minute Robinson documentary film, an NFL room that will highlight the more than 200 players that played professional football after playing for Robinson, among others assets designed to showcase Robinson's rich coaching legacy.
