Dew Drop Jazz Hall Concerts

The historic Dew Drop Social & Benevolent Jazz Hall in Old Mandeville announces its spring 2018 concert series, starting March 9 and continuing through May 25. The ambitious lineup includes six Saturday evening performances. Performance dates are March 9 and 23, April 6 and 20, and May 11 and 25. Artists to perform will be announced soon, and additional events may be announced. The Fall Concert Series begins in September and the dates will be announced mid-summer. All shows, produced by the non-profit Friends of the Dew Drop, will be on Saturday nights from 6:30-9 pm. Admission for each concert is $10 at the door. Friends of the Dew Drop members will maintain a beverage center for a nominal fee and offer souvenir Dew Drop merchandise. The members of the First Free Mission Baptist Church next door will offer hearty, home-cooked meals for a nominal fee. Owned by the City of Mandeville, the Dew Drop is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is managed by the non-profit Friends of the Dew Drop who all volunteer to bring music to the historic site and preserve and protect it. It also manages an outreach program called Dew Drop JazzKids wherein local jazz musicians conduct programs on jazz music for elementary school students in St. Tammany Parish.
