Each year, some of New Orleans’ best restaurants, taquerias and bars head to Top Taco to battle it out for the title of Top Taco Champion while festgoers reap the rewards of their labor. In addition to the unlimited taco and tequila tastings from some of your favorite eateries across the Crescent City, Top Taco also features live music performances, special guest appearances, interactive activities and more.
The annual Top Taco festival takes place Thursday, Oct. 26 at Lafreniere Park. Proceeds from this year's festival will benefit the PLEASE Foundation, a non-profit that provides mentoring, leadership training and scholarships to at-risk students in New Orleans.
This year’s event will include three stages of live music, lucha libre, the popular mezcal tent, and the Casamigos Costume Contest, plus new and exciting art and entertainment. The big addition to this year’s event is a BBQ demonstration and taco competition on the islands in the VIP area curated by World-BBQ Champion James Cruse and emceed by popular Mississippi restaurateur Brad Orrison of The Shed. Eight of the best barbecue joints in the city will battle it out for bragging rights and NOLA Boards awards.
